Trying to Catch Up!

I am a bit behind and so I have a whole hodge podge of pictures for you today!
First, last week we got to have dinner with 2 of our best friends from high school. The four of us hung out A LOT in high school, but I don't think we have been together since mine and Scott's wedding 7 years ago!!! So here are a few pics from when Rob and Heather came over for a very impromtu reunion....

Here is a pic of my very favorite Christmas cookie- peanutbutter kiss cookies. I made them for a cookie exchange at Kyler's school! Yum! I had to try them!!

We have made it a tradition to make gingerbread houses each year with the kids. They really look foward to it. This year we had the kids team up and made 2 houses.

This past weekend, we took the kids up to Flagstaff to sled and build a snowman. It was so much fun!!!! I think we will do this again next month! And I love the pics. I have a million, but I won't torture you!!!

So yesterday we gave the kids an early Christmas surprise.......a dog!!!! We have 2 dogs but they are so big that they have to spend most their time outside and can't play with the kids. So Scott and I decided to get the kids a small dog. We adopted Chance, a 2 year old Bassett/Beagle Mix. He is so well behaved and sweet!!! And the kids are in love!

Nursing School Graduation Party

I have pics from the Nursing School graduation party that I hosted for Scott. This party was a blast to plan! The whole party had a medical theme. I think everything turned out pretty good!!!! And Scott had a great time!

First, here is the invitation that I made...

Edited to Add: I have received so many emails about this invitation! How exciting for little 'ole me! Let me try and answer the most asked questions. I made this invite using this kit in Photoshop Elements. Then I printed them at Costco in the 5x7 size. If you do any digital scrapbooking, you will know just what I am talking about. If not, I am considering making and selling the digital file. Basically, you would send me your party info. I would make the invite and email it to you for a small fee for my time. If that is something that interests you, please email me at sears1130@gmail.com.

Next, the food!

Brain Cupcakes! How awesome are these?!!!

They were a piece of cake (pardon the pun!) to make. Check out these instructions.

Chocolate Covered Pretzel Phalanges (That is a fancy word for fingers for un non-medical types!lol!)

I bought the finger candy mold from Michael's during the Halloween season. But I just looked and found it here!

Finger Sandwiches! We just ordered some subs from Quiznos. But the nasty looking hand candy really added some spunk don't you think?! (I bought it at Wal-Mart during the Halloween season.)

Brain watermelon and fruit! I LOVE this one!

We got lots of compliments on this bad boy! I got the instructions from here. If you are planning a medical themed party- you MUST make one of these!

Bone bread sticks

I just bought pre-made Pillsbury bread sticks and molded them into bones. Easy!

Bandaged Toe Wieners!

Now these are supposed to be toes with bandages but they look like another body part as well. But this is a family blog! Keep it clean! Lol! All I did was wrap cocktail wieners in crescent rolls. And that candy foot really makes the tray look so much more appetizing, right?!

Plus we had meat"balls" and "Elbow" Noodle Salad.

I decorated with streamers that were actually gauze, balloons that were actually medical gloves, toy medical supplies, etc. Name tags were actually band aids. Check out our privacy policy....he he he...

Here is Sara....

And Heather (who was my best friend in high school and graduated with Scott)...

And my graduate.....

Do you notice those plates? They have compartments and reminded me of hospital trays. I found them at Wal-Mart

Scott handing out "shots"!

Check out the gift I got him..... :)

Then it was time for games......the first game was "Diagnose Your Condition." I put a condition on each person's back and they had to go around asking yes or no questions until they diagnosed the condition. My Aunt Kathy won! Everyone loved it! Lots of laughing!

I couldn't believe that Scott didn't win seeing as he had the easiest condition!!!!

The game just gave everyone lots of laughs!!! Then we played a quick anatomy game with the nurses. They had to stick the body parts to the body with the right label. I bought it here.

(Did you notice the dip bowl on the table? It's a hospital puke bowl! Lol!)

Scott ended up wining this game!

Then they played a few rounds of Operation...

One last photo.....we used a urinal as the punch ladle. So funny!!!!

I had a blast planning the party. And I am so very proud of Scott!!!!

I was joking with Scott and said that he will need to throw me a party next year and we can have a contest to see who wears the tackiest "Teacher dress." Mine will have appliqued apples for sure!!! lol!!!

Fun with Six Kids

On Tuesday, I had a couple of extra kiddos. Some friends had a family illness and so I watched their kids so they could deal with that. Scott was sleeping. So it was just me and 6 kids. I decided that the best way to get through the day was to keep them busy!!! First we did a craft. It was a rainy day so they cut clouds out of cardstock and then painted raindrops that we attached with ribbon. The kids loved the paint!

After some play time, I did something a little crazy. (Crazier than painting.) I loaded them all up and took them to McDonalds for lunch and play! It really went well until it was time to gather them to leave and get everyone's shoes on. I kept loosing kids! People around me were amuzed. On the way home, we stopped and rented the movie, Bolt. I put beand bags and pillows on the livingroom floor and gave them juice and popcorn. I napped with one eye open on the couch. This is a skill I have mastered since having kids!

After the movie, it was Play Doh time!!! Crazy huh?! Oh well! They had fun!

Dinner was a bit chaotic. But otherwise the day went fairly well! But none, the less, I don't think I want 6 kids!!!!

My Birthday!!!!

Yesterday was my 28th birthday!!! When it comes to birthdays, I am like a kid! I love them!!! I count down the days and drive Scott nuts asking what he got me for my birthday : ) But he is getting used to it! Yesterday was so much fun! First, Scott and the kids made me breakfast in bed. And they all gave me handmade cards! And I was super excited when Scott gave me tickets to the Brad Paisley/Dierks Bentley concert!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!

A littl later we went to my favorite Mexican restaurant to have some lunch together. Here are some pics Scott took as we were leaving....

And at the restaurant.....

Scott and the kids made me a cake. They were very proud!

And they were trick candles...

I love how Kyler licks every last crumb off of his plate.....

Later we dropped the kids off with Scott's parents and went to dinner with friends, Michael and Milla. We went to my very favorite restaurant, Oreganos....

The best part about Oreganos is the dessert!!!! Yum!!! They gave me 4 spoons. Don't know why ; )

Scott and I outside the restaurant....

After dinner, we met serveral of my friends at a Piano Bar on Mill avenue. Here is Candy and her husband, David...

My friends thought it would be fun to embarress me, so they told the piano players that it was my birthday. They made me come on stage. Then they sang a song that was very funny but too innapropriate to include on my family blog ; ) Then Happy birthday. Very fun! The rest of the night, every stranger in the place was wishing me a happy birthday. Love it!!! : )
And I know that it looks like I am naked in this picture....but I swear I wasn't!

They gave me some stickers when I was onstage. This is Sara and Vicki showing them off! (I later stuck one of the stickers to Scott's back and he did the same to me. )

Michael drinking beer that was way too thick in between his singing and dancing.

Me and my baby.......

Michael and Milla........

They win the prize for drinking the most. Congrats....you get a hang over! Ha ha
I had lots and lots of fun celebrating with both my family and my friends!!!! Thanks everyone. Now I have to go get ready for a birthday celebration with my parents, Bryan, Tashana, Lexi and Brady. I am glad they are all coming, but I am super excited to see Brady. It has been almost 3 months!
