A Super Sunday!!!

It's Sunday evening. Scott is at work and all the kids are in bed. And I feel like it was such a fun day! I got to spend some individual time with some of the kids (which is rare!) and we got to do things together as a family too.

This morning, Makenzie and I were cuddling in bed together and we decided it would be nice if we made an egg breakfast for the whole family. So she was my big helper. And we all enjoyed a breakfast together. That is very rare!

Then Makenzie and I went to do some shopping together. We had lots of time to talk and I love that. And while we were gone- Laynee dusted, Kyler cleaned the bathroom, and Danika helped to fold laundry. They were so excited about being big helpers!!!! Woooo Hooo!!! I see a chore chart coming in our very near future ; )

Kyler was my lunch helper. We made grilled cheese sandwiches (his choice) for everyone.

Then it was nap time. I got a whole bunch of homework done while the kids were napping. I am stressing a bit about getting everything done this week since it is my brother's wedding. I have some more favors to make and the place cards. Plu, I have to pack the family to be away for 2 nights. Plus I have my usual stuff: piano lessons, dance lessons, preschool, parent/teacher conferences, bible study and my school work. All this must be done by the time we go to bed Wednesday!!!! So I felt so good about getting a head start on my homework!!!

After naps- we made a craft project with all of the kids. Makenzie and I got gords at the grocery stor (78 cents!) and the kids painted them black and made them into Halloween cats!!!! Here are some pics of the craft....

And here are the finished projects......

Adorable, right????

Now who is sweeter in this pic???

After the craft was done, Scott took Makenzie, Laynee and Kyler to the park to play some soccer. Danika stayed home with me. We baked 2 pumpkin pies and made a chicken casserole for dinner. She loves cooking and baking!!!! And I have found that if she helps to make it- she will eat it. Otherwise, she is super picky.

And now I am all caught up on my blogging too!!!!
Ever since school started I have not had any time to scrapbook. I have evn cut back significantly on my Facebook time!!!! Sacrifices!!!! I am off to do my homework!

C is for cookie......

....and that's good enough for me!!!!

I am LOVING letter C week!!! Today we baked Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!! Now why didn't I think to bake brownies during letter B week?!!! I need a re-do!!!! Anyway, th girls and I maked cookies today to take to the nice firefighters that we met yesterday. Plus we kept some for us!!!

Now just look at these cuties....
And Kenzie's lip is almost better!!! (Oh if you aren't a Facebook friend- I should explain: Last week Makenzie jumped and fell in the bath tub. He tooth went right through her lip. It wasn't too pretty. I had to take her to the hospital. Thank goodness, Scott was home because this kind of thing usually happens when he is at work!!! Makenzie was real lucky that she didn't break her tooth or need stitches!!! They put some dermabond on it and we were on our way!!!)

And the finished product.......

The girls sampled the chocolate chip cookies after their lunch of corndogs and cheese sticks. I think I might be taking this letter C thing a little far!!!!

And here are just a couple pics of them doing some coloring with crayons!

I know this pic is fuzzy but I just love the cute smile on Laynee's face!!!

Our Little Artist!

My little man used to HATE coloring and making projects. He would make one scribble and then run off to play. But lately we have noticed a huge change. Kyler loves to draw pictures!!! And he is really quite good at it too! Here are some pics of him from last night coloring his Little Einsteins rocket....

We're so proud of our little guy!

Letter of the Week- A

We sure have been keeping busy these last few days!!! Lots of shopping, errands, and family time! It was a fun week and a fun weekend! And so much more to look foward to!

So while Kyler is in school, I make sure to have some learning time with the girls. It's like a homeschool pre school! I do it mostly because the girls miss going to their pre school and miss Kyler while he is in Kindergarden. But I also think it is good for them to do art projects, practice writing letters and have story time. So each week- we are going to focus on a different letter. Last week, we worked on the letter A. I was so proud of them!!! The twins can write a captital and lowercase A fairly well. And all three girls can recognize an A when they see it in a book or in their names. It's a great start!

Here are a couple pics of them practicing on our chalkboads......
It was such a hit!!!! I got them for a couple dollars at Lakeshore Learning store!!! Kids love them!
Then one day last week, I had a dr. appointment and babysat Brady. So Scott headed up the learning time!!! All three girls made these cute Alligators! I am so proud! Of Scott. And the girls!

And another day they did some worksheets and coloring sheets that I printed online......

My girls......

We are starting Letter B tomorrow!!!! Making paper birds this week!!! Anyone want to guest teach in my pre school class????!!! : )

Fun with Six Kids

On Tuesday, I had a couple of extra kiddos. Some friends had a family illness and so I watched their kids so they could deal with that. Scott was sleeping. So it was just me and 6 kids. I decided that the best way to get through the day was to keep them busy!!! First we did a craft. It was a rainy day so they cut clouds out of cardstock and then painted raindrops that we attached with ribbon. The kids loved the paint!

After some play time, I did something a little crazy. (Crazier than painting.) I loaded them all up and took them to McDonalds for lunch and play! It really went well until it was time to gather them to leave and get everyone's shoes on. I kept loosing kids! People around me were amuzed. On the way home, we stopped and rented the movie, Bolt. I put beand bags and pillows on the livingroom floor and gave them juice and popcorn. I napped with one eye open on the couch. This is a skill I have mastered since having kids!

After the movie, it was Play Doh time!!! Crazy huh?! Oh well! They had fun!

Dinner was a bit chaotic. But otherwise the day went fairly well! But none, the less, I don't think I want 6 kids!!!!

Painting Pottery

We have a cute little pottery place in town. I took the girls there on Monday. They LOVED it!!!! They each painted a tile in their favorite color and then we put their handprint on it. When it is ready- that is going to hang on the wall in my office!!!! Just need to bring Kyler in!

We also painted a piggy bank for Uncle Bryan's baby. He painted banks for 3 of my kiddos so I thought it would be fun to do one for his. Hope he is born soon!

Egg decorating and hunt

Yesterday Scott and I took the girls to story time at the library and then they had an edd hunt in the park afterwards. The girls were delighted when they realized that the eggs had candy inside. Didn't get very good pics since there were like 50 kids running for the eggs and I had to keep track of mine!

Then last night all of the kids dyed the Easter eggs....

Today I have to take Laynee to a specialist regarding her pooping problems. We have waited so long for this appointment so I hope they will be able to help us!

Fun in the Sun!

I have a bunch of pictures for ya!!! We had such a good time yesterday! It was 92 degrees and so the kids spent a good portion of the day in the kiddie pool in the backyard. I love these happy faces!

When I was making their lunch, I snapped a pic so you could see how the kids keep us on our toes!

Kyler only eats peanutbutter on his sandwich. Laynee likes PB&J and the twins only like jelly. If you mess this up- you are likely to have a sandwich thrown at you. And I am not joking! But when you do it right- you get more smiles!!!

Kyler added grapes to his sandwich! He sure is creative!

We even had a fun sun craft yesterday. I made each kid a sun out of paper plates. You just take one paper plate and cut it into eighths. These are the sun rays. Then just staple them to another plate and you have a sun! The kids each painted their suns!

I know that lots of my friends think I am crazy for letting the kids use paint. The thing is- I am a bit of a neat freek (nothing like my parents) but enough that I get frantic when the kids make a mess. But I got these great tempura kid paints for the learning store and I LOVE them! The paint washes off the table and the kids skin and clothes. EZ clean up! And anytime th kids get to paint- they are in heaven!
Got Easter egg hunt and egg decorating pics to show you soon!
