C is for cookie......

....and that's good enough for me!!!!

I am LOVING letter C week!!! Today we baked Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!! Now why didn't I think to bake brownies during letter B week?!!! I need a re-do!!!! Anyway, th girls and I maked cookies today to take to the nice firefighters that we met yesterday. Plus we kept some for us!!!

Now just look at these cuties....
And Kenzie's lip is almost better!!! (Oh if you aren't a Facebook friend- I should explain: Last week Makenzie jumped and fell in the bath tub. He tooth went right through her lip. It wasn't too pretty. I had to take her to the hospital. Thank goodness, Scott was home because this kind of thing usually happens when he is at work!!! Makenzie was real lucky that she didn't break her tooth or need stitches!!! They put some dermabond on it and we were on our way!!!)

And the finished product.......

The girls sampled the chocolate chip cookies after their lunch of corndogs and cheese sticks. I think I might be taking this letter C thing a little far!!!!

And here are just a couple pics of them doing some coloring with crayons!

I know this pic is fuzzy but I just love the cute smile on Laynee's face!!!

Our Visit to the fire station!

I have a friend whose husband works for the local fire department. Since Kyler LOVES firemen, I asked if Dave would mind giving us a tour of the fire department. When we made the plans, I think I got just as excited as Kyler!!! I just love coming up with these special activities to do with the kids. I swear, my heart grows a little every time!!!

So here is my little fireman outside of the station. Just check out his smile....

And yesterday, Kyler spent a lot of time drawing a picture for Fireman Dave. It is a fire truck and fireman. It was so cute!!!

Dave showed us around the inside of the station where the firemen eat and sleep and hang out. I think Kyler really liked this since I am fairly certain he thought the firemen had to live in the truck! Then we went into the garage and saw the trucks. Dave showed the kids all the tools and stuff. And he put Kyler up in the driver's seat! More big smiles....

Danika was really enjoying this as well. She always says that she wants to be a "fireman doctor" when she grows up. We are trying to teach her the word "paramedic"!!! So here she is next to the ambulance that they have at the fire station...

And here is my little jr. fireman next to his new friend, Fireman Dave!

And then it was time for the BEST part. Dave pulled the truck out of the garage and turned the emergency lights on. Kyler LOVED it!!!

After the fire station, Scott and I decided to treat the kids to Dairy Queen. It was 113 degrees out so a cool treat sounded good!!!! As we sat there, it was so fun to listen to the kids talk about the fire station. Danika said that when she grows up, she wants to be just like Fireman Dave!!! Kyler can't wait until he turns 14 because Dave said that's when you can start helping at the fire station. Such cuties!!!
As soon as I got home, I just had to scrapbook our adventure....

And then I got to thinking...Kyler has had a love for firemen since he was a baby!!! His first birthday party was a fireman theme. And the reason we had picked that theme was because he spent so much time on his ride-on firetruck toy. And then just last year, Kyler was a fireman for Halloween. And he has been wearing that costume on a weekly basis ever since! It's torn!!! I think he just might be getting a new one this year for Christmas ; ) So I decided to make a scrapbook page that documents his love for fireman.....

Tonight Kyler asked me if he can have a fireman birthday party when he turns 6. So cute, since his birthday isn't until January!!! He went on to say "Mommy, we can even make up a party game using the hose." Well if firefighting doesn't work out for him, he can always fall back on being a party planner!!!!

Our Little Artist!

My little man used to HATE coloring and making projects. He would make one scribble and then run off to play. But lately we have noticed a huge change. Kyler loves to draw pictures!!! And he is really quite good at it too! Here are some pics of him from last night coloring his Little Einsteins rocket....

We're so proud of our little guy!

Letter of the Week- B

This weeks letter at the Sears Family Preschool was the letter B. The girls practiced writing the letter B and they learned the sound it makes. They did even better this week!!! And for our craft they made birds out of paper plates. They LOVE painting!!! And the birds turned out really cute!

Funny Dinner Conversation

I am pretty good about scrapbooking events like holidays and vacations and birthdays. But my very favorite things to scrapbook are just the everyday stuff. I feel like my kid will remember our big holiday traditions when they grow up. But they won't remember what we did all day when they were 4. Or the funny things they said. And I think it is those things that really tell the story of their childhood. So today I have a simple scrapbook layout that tells the story of a funny dinner we had last week....
Here is what the jounaling says:
When I picked Kyler up from Kindergarden, I told him that we were having Pork Chops for dinner. I was a bit shocked when he said "Pork Chops come from a pig. My teacher said so." I laughed and thought nothing more of it.Later, all 6 of us are eating our delicious meal when Kyler decided to inform all of his sisters as to where pork chops comes from! He went on to say "I love eating pig!" This was making it slightly more difficult to enjoy my dinner. But, when the kids all started going "oink oink" I decided I was DONE with my pork chop!!!Then suddenly Kyler says, "Ouch! I just ate the pig mouth and it bit me!" Oh, the joys of eating with 4 kiddos! I wouldn't trade it for anything. But I think it will be a while before we make pork chops again!

I just love how the kids make us laugh all the time!!!!

Dress Up

My girls play dress up every single day! I took some pictures of them yesterday....

I was upstairs getting ready yesterday and when I came down, I found Danika and Makenzie dressing Laynee up. So cute!
And later Makenzie got all dressed up and was playing music and dancing all around the toy room. She is soooo ready for her ballet class that starts next month!

Makenzie and Laynee...

Laynee's Big Girl Bed

We FINALLY got Laynee a matress and put together her Big Girl bed!!! She is 3 years old and we are barely putting her in a bed!!! Crazy!!! But she didn't climb out of her crib for the longest time so we didn't see any need to change what was working! Then a month or so ago, she climbed out of her crib one night and just played in her room for a while. When I came in, I put her back in her crib and told her not to get out again. And she listened!!! So we were never in any rush!

But it is time. So Scott put the bed together and we all went out and got the matress. I had the bedding since I got it for her 2nd birthday!!! I got it on ebay and it matched her crib bedding so I didn't have to re-decorate her room!

So here is the big girl ladybug bed....

And Laynee making a silly face because Kyler told her too....

And my super happy Laynee who loves her bed so much that she wanted to go to sleep at 3pm....

Sweet dreams, Big Girl....

It's been an hour and a half and I haven't heard a sound from her room!!! She is such a good kid!

And now we have a crib-less house :( I am trying not to get too sappy but it just seems like these kids are growing up too fast!

Feels like yesterday she was sleeping in a bassinette!

Letter of the Week- A

We sure have been keeping busy these last few days!!! Lots of shopping, errands, and family time! It was a fun week and a fun weekend! And so much more to look foward to!

So while Kyler is in school, I make sure to have some learning time with the girls. It's like a homeschool pre school! I do it mostly because the girls miss going to their pre school and miss Kyler while he is in Kindergarden. But I also think it is good for them to do art projects, practice writing letters and have story time. So each week- we are going to focus on a different letter. Last week, we worked on the letter A. I was so proud of them!!! The twins can write a captital and lowercase A fairly well. And all three girls can recognize an A when they see it in a book or in their names. It's a great start!

Here are a couple pics of them practicing on our chalkboads......
It was such a hit!!!! I got them for a couple dollars at Lakeshore Learning store!!! Kids love them!
Then one day last week, I had a dr. appointment and babysat Brady. So Scott headed up the learning time!!! All three girls made these cute Alligators! I am so proud! Of Scott. And the girls!

And another day they did some worksheets and coloring sheets that I printed online......

My girls......

We are starting Letter B tomorrow!!!! Making paper birds this week!!! Anyone want to guest teach in my pre school class????!!! : )

More Brady

I got to babysit Brady on Wednesday. In between cleaning up spit up, I was able to get a few pictures of the little guy!

This is while he still liked me....

This is when he was sick and tired or my camera and having his doubts about me....
This is after his fussing and spitting up, when he gave in and decided I wasn't so bad...
